Top 100 favorite TV shows of all-time

Ryan Pratt's Top 100 Favorite TV Series Ever

Well, I finally did it. After list after list of top movies, I finally completed my much-requested and highly-debated list of top TV shows. And although I was a national movie critic in a prior life, I do not consider myself a professional TV snob by any means, so I'll spare you my list of "Top 100 Best TV Series Ever" and jump right into favorites. But keep in mind, I'm a millennial, so don't expect too many Dick Van Dyke or Lucille Ball appearances in this list. These are shows from the 80s through the 2010s. Some were binged on Netflix and Hulu, while others were from the pre-DVR-sit-on-the-couch-at-8pm-era. It's a list full of groundbreaking dramas that shocked, hilarious sitcoms that had me ROTLF, guilty-pleasures like reality MTV, and the cartoons I grew up on. It not only includes shows I watched from season premier to season finale, and episodes I've seen a dozen times, but also a show that got cancelled after just 22 episodes.

Surviving Survivor

It always amazes me that contestants on the reality TV series "Survivor" can't keep cool long enough to make it to "the merge." It's the only thing you need to do to survive longer than half of your competitors. Maybe I am just speaking for myself, as a level-headed long-fuse - and granted the producers cast the most dramatic personalities they can find - but for a million dollars? C'mon! Then again, I do get pretty cranky when I haven't eaten.

List of "Tool Time" Tool Girls

Part of the show's attraction was its token "Tool Time girl", whose primary roles were to look good, be curvaceous, roll out various props and help introduce the two hosts. In the first two seasons, Pamela Anderson played Tool Time girl Lisa. When Pamela left the show, Debbe Dunning stepped in as her replacement, Heidi, who stayed until the show's end. A fictional flashback to the first episode shows Mrs. Binford playing the part of the Tool Time girl. Also in an ironic, but humorous twist, that "first episode" featured Tim with a beard, while Al sported a clean-shaven face, a direct opposite of their normal look.

1. Lisa - Pamela Anderson
2. Heidi - Debbe Dunning
3. Mrs. Binford - Lois de Banzie (flashback)

Top 25 TV Shows Today: Slightly Gender-Biased but Addictive

These are the top 25 TV shows that you can presently watch on cable or satellite television. It is slightly gender biased towards men, however every show can be equally loved by both sexes. Take note, they are also some of the best sitcoms and series ever!
    1. Seinfeld - The funniest show ever! Kramer coming in the door. George's monologues. Elaine's dancing. There is a reason why it is on 3 different channels for 6 hours everyday of the week.
    2. Entourage - If you could only be Vinny Chase (or atleast a part of his entourage).
    3. Man vs. Wild - If we are watching TV to live vicariously through its characters, being Bear Grylls would either be the coolest thing imaginable, or the worst.
    4. The Office - It is hilarious even if you've never worked a day in an office. Who wouldn't love to have a boss like Michael and co-workers like Dwight and Jim?
    5. Lost - So many questions, so few answers. What's the black fog? Will they get off the island? Why are they there? etc. etc.
    6. Family Guy - If you don't think Stewie is the funniest character in a long time then, "Pipe down, Lois."
    7. Late Night with Conan O'Brien - The funniest combination of opening monologue, skits, and interviews. Best of all the late-night talk shows.
    8. Around the Horn - No need for hours of Sportscenter. This is the freshest, quickest, widest views on what's happening in the world of sports.
    9. The Unit - It is like going to the theater and seeing a new Schwarzenegger / Tom Clancy movie every week.
    10. Heroes - Takes you back to your childhood dream of being Superman; or fulfills your dream of being an invisible mind-reader today.
    11. Two and Half Men - Whether you love or hate Charlie Sheen in real life, you will like his wild and drunk character on the show.
    12. Nip/Tuck - Fulfills America's obsessive interest in the beautiful, rich and famous while making you never want to be any of three.
    13. Studio 60 - The best writers in television. The show centers around characters and relationships, and the dialogue is amazingly complex. People so so much with so few words.
    14. King of Queens - These modern "Honeymooners" will make you love every aspect of your own life.
    15. Friday Night Lights - With America's obsession with football, gorgeous people, action, romance and comedy, I'd be shocked if you didn't get hooked.
    16. NCIS - If CSI and Law and Order is getting old (or you are old) give this hip show a try. Get to know the characters, because it delivers on every other level, and it might be your favorite show.
    17. Survivor - The best reality network TV show ever! Every person of every age can and wants to participate in this return to the wild for $1 million.
    18. The Sopranos - I take that back, if you could only be Tony Soprano (or part of his entourage).
    19. Pardon the Interruption (PTI) - The original catalyst for what sports television has become today, the only reason its not any higher is because around the horn has fresher, younger and more opinions.
    20. Real World/ Road Rules Challenge - The best show on MTV (yeah I realize it supposed to be "Music" TV). If you get to know the people (all from the originals in reality TV) you will laugh, cry and cheer right with them.
    21. Grey's Anatomy - This is a look into the fascinating lives of surgeons, and possibly the first show that women and older people will agree with me.
    22. Jeopardy - The best game show ever! Like Bob Barker, we can only pray that Alex Trebek will find the fountain of youth and live to give answers before the question forever.
    23. The O'Reilly Factor - Whether you lean far-right or far-left, like the New York Times, you will always be interested or be aware of these opinions.
    24. Sunrise Earth - I realize, its hardly a show. You may have never even heard of it (and rightfully so if you don't have Discovery Channel in HD), but it is the best wildlife show on TV. It runs real-time and follows the sunrise in amazing places around the globe.
    25. Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Funniest stupid cartoon show ever to originate on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. I swear, it might be hard, but give it a chance, you won't be dissapointed.

    Entourage: Ari Gold Quotes

On the TV show "Entourage," Vincent Chase's agent Ari Gold, played by Jeremy Piven, is one the most memorable characters HBO has produced since Tony Soprano. Here are some of his infamous quotes.

  • I didn't go to the Lakers game because they were playing the fucking Bobcats... I came here today because I thought this was a session on how my wife could learn to communicate. How to answer a question without a question: basic Humanity 101. Which I thought, given your wall of fucking diplomas, you could easily fix. Or if you couldn't, you could give her a pill that could either fix it or make her a mute. But now to turn around and gang up on me! I have work to do! I have hundreds of clients to deal with. And just so we're clear; I don't care about any of 'em. They're all just a number: Like Wife number 1 and Therapist number 7. Good day!

  • You wanna hug it out? Let's hug it out, bitch.

  • You want to hire Max Ballard. He's Dakota Fanning with a dick.

  • I know. He left 15 messages on the machine. The wife things I'm fucking the gardener.

  • What if I told you I had a 22 inch dick? Would that be something that you would be interested in?

  • I want every desk to be sterile enough for you to get trained on!

  • Hug it out, bitch!

  • Listen, Lloyd, I want you to put all my files, folders, binders, *everything* into a box! If you find a used condom, an executioner's mask, and a fucking spike paddle, don't think, just pack that bitch Chop suey!

  • Tell Drama he's on the top of my list of things to do today, along with inserting needles in my c*ck!

  • You all have one goal today - to get Vincent Chase's brother, Johnny Chase a job - ANY job. I don't care if it's a porn shoot where he is being gang raped by a gaggle of silverback apes, if there are cameras rolling, everyone wins.

  • No, I don't. You look like Michelle Kwan in drag!

  • Good for you E; I won't even fuck my wife after she plays tennis.

  • I'm ready to go, baby. I'm like R. Kelly at recess.

  • Oh no. You kidding me? Want me to get Lloyd in here and have him hari-kari you with his pecker?

  • You can have it if you want to live in Agora fucking hills, and go to group therapy, but if you want a Beverly Hills mansion, a country club membership, and nine weeks a year in a Tuscan villa, then I'm gonna need to take a call when it comes in at noon on a motherfucking Wednesday.

  • You know another class I took at Harvard? Business Ethics. I don't steal other people's mother fucking clients, but in your case I'm going to make an exception. I'm going to take everyone; your B-level sitcom stars, your reality-TV writers, when I'm done with you, you're gonna be repping sideshow freaks. You need Jo-Jo the Dog-Face-Bitch-Boy? Call Josh Weinfuck, the lightweight pen-stealing fuckface.

  • I would say let's hug it out but I don't want you drawing wood.

  • You know what they feed people on an indi set, Vinne? Nothing! They don't give you a trailer. They tell you to go sit on an apple box. Ever try to bang an extra on an apple box?

  • He will sue you - he'll take everything you have - he'll take the house, the cars, maybe even Turtle.

  • Now how ‘bout a quick blowjob before my Vince dinner

  • Tell Drama he's on the top of my list of things to do today, along with inserting needles in my cock!

  • Silence is fucking golden.

  • You shitty dime-store therapist. A man's life is on the line here, and all you give a fuck about is beating some stupid club record that will do what for you? Give you five minutes of pleasure while you fuck your unpaid emasculated husband tonight? How the fuck does he afford this place anyway? Isn't he a guidance counselor at a high school?

  • Great work, Rob. Great work. See if you can read this: [Writing on dry-erase board] Get the fuck out! You're fired, and in case your ears are fucked, Get. The Fuck. Out! And the next person I see juggling, tap dancing, or baton twirling or doing any other circus-like tricks, will join him, all right? One-strike policy applies. Now get back to work. God damn that felt good.

  • Smoke more Weed Turtle, Seriously, smoke more weed.

  • I wanna fuck Angelina Jolie. The only difference is, I might actually have a shot.

  • Come on! I'm like R. Kelly at recess here!

  • You know 'The Station Agent,' Eric? Monster hit at Sundance. It's about the midget who lives by the train tracks. Last time I saw him he was in a FedEx commercial. They were overnighting him to London. Sundance is a great festival for little people. You should kill over there.

  • You like Gaysian Lloyd? He's cute, right? And he covers two quotas.

  • Fuck the phones, Lloyd! Unless Carmen Electra calls for an emergency titty-fuck, don’t answer!

  • It's like high school. You can't fuck the prom queen until she finds out her best friend jerked you off underneath the bleachers!

  • I knew you liked dick, Babs, but i didn't realize you were a cocksucker!

  • There you go, baby -- Men at Work, the land down under...We're gonna get drunk with Russell Crowe, and we're gonna headbutt some goddamn kangaroos.

  • f I were to cheat on my wife it’d be with a busty blonde or, you know, an Asian with pointy nipples.

  • Walsh is your boy. You gave him final cut, even though I begged you not to. Now you have to live with it. Or kill him. Actually, that’s a good idea. Kill him, then kill yourself. Could you imagine the outpouring of love and sympathy when Vince loses both of you. I could have him back on top in three months.

  • No, I don’t tell you what I like. My old assistant is supposed to tell you what I like, and then he is supposed to seamlessly train you so that the only change in my life comes when I have to write out a Christmas bonus. Get out of here, Glen. Anywhere but here, or I will kill you. I only want Lloyd and I will get him myself.

  • No questions, Lloyd. Not until you stop dressing like Paula Poundstone.

  • I teach my son to never let people just take things from him. It’s my Israeli blood.

  • When a director falls for an actor on set, all bets are off. When he doesn’t get her, bet you have a problem. When someone else gets her, bet the house.

  • They shot ‘King Kong’ in New Zealand but that monkey still climbed the Empire State Building.

  • A prince, an arms dealer, a coke dealer — who knows? What I do know is $60 million to him is like lunch at the Ivy to you and me. That’s me and Vince, not you and me, E. Impressive, huh?

  • Lloyd you're not my mistress, quit acting like you are!

  • Does that sound like my wife, Lloyd?

  • What’s the matter Lloyd? You and Tom like to listen to my voice while you dildo each other?

  • Well Yair, we’re sorry, but we’re here to sell to Americans, so that people can see it in the States, not in the Arab Emirates.

  • Big balls for a little man, I love it. Let’s call Nicky and see if he’s got ‘m as well.

  • Same way I knew you’re father was banging his secretary before everyone in town did; instinct!

  • I was full of shit when I told you I had a condom at Live Aid.

  • Vinnie, when you get married you realize that a wife is like a herpes source. She comes and goes when and where she pleases.

  • Wow, after 5 years you finally learned to lie. Welcome to Hollywood!

  • Please. Come on! We’re at code red everytime the president has a loose stool.

  • You know what Lloyd? I’m in the middle of a code red alert. I got military police everywhere, Germand shepherds ready to attack at a moments notice, I’m facing three hour delays and an uncertain, unsafe future. So get off my ass and go get my wife some favorite flowers!

  • Listen, have a great time, wear a life vest because the only bobbing you should be doing is on Tom’s cock.

  • Well, we need him ’cause maybe that neurotic little elf nipping at your heels will make you understand that we are in a major crisis situation here!

  • Weird, I used to push-up on Dana Gordon like this. True story.

Top 10 Ways to Win an America's Vote Talent Show

Most Americans already know all of this, you just don't know it. Since the influx of reality TV 10 years ago, we have all been instinctively brainwashed with these ten tips that could easily win you "American Idol" or "America's Got Talent" or whatever show you need votes from the American audience to win.

    1. When the camera zooms in on you at the end of your act and the host comes out to ask you questions, hold up the number of fingers that correlates to the phone number (or text message) they need to call.
    2. Make sure you answer the questions with a balance of wit, charm, intelligence and don't forget the tears.
    3. In the promo videos the producers shoot for you to show before your act, find the sappiest, down-to-earth, heartwarming story you can that will wet every cheek in the audience and at home.
    4. Don't be afraid to give hell to the guy in the far left judges seat (Simon or Piers or whoever fits the mold) when he rips your act apart and hears boo from the crowd (though he usually is the only one qualified to be making any judgments out of the three).
    5. If you are singing, no need to write your own lyrics (since no one in the biz today does either), just choose any song from the top 10 charts from any year that fits your genre.
    6. If you are a guy, don't be afraid to take your shirt off and flex those abs... if you are a girl, don't be afraid to take your shirt off either (or at least wear something skanky).
    7. The younger you are, the better - talent plus pre-puberty is what America is most impressed with - so if you can, lie about your age.
    8. Any drama (breaking up with boyfriends, wives giving birth, dads on deathbeds, etc.) you can create during the audition phase is a plus, the TV cameras will be drawn to it like Michael Jackson to daycare, and the more TV exposure the better.
    9. Don't forget where you came from, or at least don't let America realize you have.
    10. If you are a guy, flirt with the judge in the middle seat (if its Paula and you're daring, you can even sleep with her)... if you are a girl, flirt with the guy in the far right judges seat (remember, whichever hand makes an L when you stick out your thumbs is the left).
